The main therapeutic source of treatments are the thermal springs, which spring from poryphyritic rock layers. The source of the Teplice thermal springs is characterized as a natural, slightly mineralized, hydrocarbonate-sulphate-sodium type with a high level of fluoride and a slight trace of radon. The thermal springs "Pravřídlo"(Primary Hot Spring) and "Hynie" Spring are used for the spa's purposes. The temperatures of the thermal water springs range from 39°-44°C (102°-111.5°Fahrenheit). 

In all of the spa facilities the springs are used above-all for the treatment of locomotive organs and vascular diseases. On the fundamentals of medicine and balneo-therapy, the spa treatments have good results in treating traumatogenic conditions and in treating children with disorders of the motor system resulting in the impairment of the central nervous system. It is also successful in treating occupational disorders caused by vibrations.
