Česká Pohádka Reserved the Metropolis for This Week
The festival called "Česká Pohádka" (Bohemian Fairytale) will make the České Budějovice Square dancing today. The fairytales and concerts will be taking parts at the other stages throughout the city.
DANCE AS A CULTURAL TRADITION. The shows of the national dances and costumes from the countries of Eastern Europe are always very successful with audiences.
Ms. Vlaďka Pavlová České Budějovice – The decision to spend the vacation week by resting within a home ambience rather than by traveling can be interesting, especially when the social life in the metropolis promises more than a single cultural experience. Actually, the first one can be the today's singing and dancing performance of the children ensembles from the Czech Republic, Russia and Belarus.
The magnificent show of the rich national costumes and various dancing choreography will start today in 16:00 hours at the Přemysl Otakar II Square. The show called "Česká Pohádka" (Bohemian Fairytale) will feature the modern ballet, national dance, vaudeville dance, theater dance, dance show, and historical dance performed by the home ensemble from Hluboká nad Vltavou. "This is not only the show of folk dances from five countries, but also the very motley and colorful show, which includes the acrobat dancing as well. The Divertiment group will bring the dance from the thousands of kilometers distant Khabarovsk of Eastern Siberia, the Happy Childhood ensemble from Kharkov will show the Ukraine national dance, the audience will also see the Latvian folk ensemble, dance from the faraway Kazakhstan, and show of the national costumes from Eastern Wind group," festival director Liudmila Žuravlová outlined the two-hour program. The interested individuals can see this show also on July 19 at the Náměstí Míru in Jindřichův Hradec. The cover charge is free.

Children Ensembles from Russia Will Dance in Český Krumlov
Český Krumlov (als) – Dancing ensembles from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the Czech Republic will perform on Friday at 19:00 hours in the hall of the Český Krumlov City Theater. Eleven groups from the Czech Republic and from the countries of the former Soviet Union will perform at the international youth dancing festival called "Česká Pohádka" (Bohemian Fairytale).
"Russia is sending the most of the ensembles to the festival. Children will travel thousands of kilometers to Český Krumlov from the cities like Yekaterinburg or faraway Khabarovsk," said Liudmila Žuravlová, Festival Director.
The other ensembles will come from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Ukraine. They underwent a narrower selection; therefore, the audience will see the best. The children will show the best traditional national dances and their modern styles as well, thus the audience will be able to get the idea about the culture of the mentioned countries.
"The quality of the ensembles is attention-grabbing. Even though we are dealing with children category here, the performances usually reach the professional level," pointed out Žuravlová. "Especially the ensemble from Kazakhstan is interesting. It travels around the world and collects much of a success", added Žuravlová.
The ensemble from the Czech Republic will be present at the festival too. The members of the historical dance group called Romanetto from Hluboká nad Vltavou will represent it. "It will definitely be no boring contest at all. The featured attractive lighting, national costumes and stage requisites are promising a very untraditional experience," invites Žuravlová.
